When Mandy Gaggero saw the innovative vehicle wrap that EuropeAxess had done for Richard Desoiza’s World War II Tunnels visitors bus, she invited Angela to Blands Head office in Cloister Building to discuss a revamp of the MH Blands Tour buses.

The MH Blands busses go through a regular cycle of maintainance and refurbishment as the fleet is updated or new vehicles added in. We were asked to install 6 vehicle wraps in the first year. We were asked to develop two designs to promote the Cable Car and Upper Rock experience and the Dolphin World Cruises.

Front of Bus

Mandy wanted the front of the buses to remain clear, but with strong branding. However we were able to use the client’s photography to create high resolution collages conveying the exciting atmosphere and immediacy of the Tour experience. For this we produced long panoramic scenes right along the full length of the sides of the buses. We also used the back windows printing images on one-way microporus film. Wherever possible the apes and dolphins moved out of the confines of the vehicle panels to help bring them into the realm of the audience.

One-way Microporus Film used on back

The materials and inks that were used in production were of the strongest quality to ensure a long lasting image that would stand the rigors of the Gibraltar sub-tropical weather and the Barbary Apes themselves in the Nature Reserve where the Tour Buses spend much of their working day. The Apes have been known to peel signage off vehicles if they can!

We were asked to install the same images on a further 6 busses the following year, but, on seeing the possibilities and potential of this new medium MH Blands went on to assimilate a local design company into the Group and put all further vehicle wraps through their own in-house studios.

When George Olivera of Mediterranean Cleaning Services needed a Yellow Pages Ad created in a hurry, the staff at Herold Mediatel who produce the Gibraltar Telephone Directory recommended Angela Sargent.

MCS found that the were taking on an increasing number of larger corporate contracts, so the brief was to revamp their Yellow Pages advertising to reflect this success, showcase their specialist teams and equipment.
The day after we received the enquiry from Mr Olivera a recce was done down at Ocean Village. A spot decided upon for a photo shoot and a day scheduled for the team and equipment to be on site. Meanwhile the company logo was redrawn and a couple of layouts prepared.
The day after the photo shoot a draft advertisement was presented to Mr. Olivera for approval. Some small revisions were made and the final Ad was ready to send to the Yellow Pages 5 working days from the initial enquiry. On time and within the estimated budget.

He had the name ‘Crystal Financial Solutions’ and wanted two shades of blue for the corporate image.

During our first meeting the art director sketched the little diamond shape, a couple of days later the idea of using the ‘y’ in crystal as a container for the crystal materialized.

David and his wife and business partner Anita were delighted with the outcome, we were able to quickly move forward with the project. Stationery was prepared and the all important brochure.
